The Life of an Orange

Working on my laptop at Starbucks.

Someone dropped her orange on the ground and it rolled to the front of my table. It was too late to call the owner as she was already on her way to the exit.

The orange stood still in the middle of store. A father and a son passed by it. A girl and a boy passed by it. The orange remained at the same spot. Should I pick it up? But wouldn't it be weird to pick up an orange from the ground in public? I startled and continued to work. Another couple passed by without a glance at the orange.

I started to get worried. How goes the life of this orange? Will it stay on the ground forever? Then, a family of three passed by. The little girl kicked the orange and it rolled. Her mother stopped her, picked up the orange and put it on the counter.

At last, the orange was saved.

The end.
